DINO: get to know the social network that unites Twitter and Linkedin – 04/04/2023 – #Hashtag

This Tuesday (4th), Portal Comunique-se launches the DINO social network, described by its creators as “the first social text network in Brazil”. The platform is aimed at articles of at least five paragraphs. Focused on communication professionals, DINO allows the promotion of content outside its domain, aiming at publication in one of the 400 partner vehicles.

According to the portal, one of the main appeals for professionals to join is that, unlike other networks, it is not necessary to gain one follower at a time on the platform. DINO offers new members an audience made up of around 11,000 existing users, coming from the portal’s former News Divulgator —and which can expand according to new registrations.

In addition, published texts are categorized into 25 subjects. When creating a profile on DINO, simply select the topics and creators you want to follow and set up a personalized feed.

DINO is also betting on eliminating the infrastructure management that a blog, for example, would require. Engagement metrics such as comments, likes and shares are easily visualized.

It is possible to pay to have your text redistributed to partner vehicles. At the moment, there is no remuneration for the content producer who has the text published outside the platform, but Rodrigo Azevedo, creator of Comunique-se, believes that DINO contributes to building value and networking with partners, who may come to close deals outside the social network.

“Not every text published on the social network can be boosted”, explains Azevedo. Content offered to partners undergoes a selection and adaptation process, as needed, before publication in one of the vehicles. Content reported for fake news, profanity or offensive terms will be evaluated and may be removed from the platform.

The network interface combines features of Twitter, LinkedIn and Medium.

The texts are presented as in the timeline, which previously organized posts on Elon Musk’s network in chronological order. Also similar to Twitter, on DINO there is the possibility of following creators or subjects and viewing trending topics, as in Trending Topics.

The similarity with Linkedin appears in the professional aspect of the platform (to register, you must include data such as profession, position and company where you currently work) and in the possibility of interacting with peers. The publication of long texts, usually with more careful language work, is the aspect of DINO that reminds Medium, a platform dear to writers.

After the latest changes implemented by Musk on Twitter, some independent artists are looking for a new platform to promote their work. For those who work with long-form texts (reports, chronicles, opinion articles, poems, among others), DINO can be an alternative.
