Desenrola Brasil renegotiated more than R$ 2.5 billion in debt in two weeks in Track 2 of the program, according to a balance sheet released on Monday (31) by the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban). More than 400,000 contracts were renegotiated.
Range 2 covers renegotiations of debts with banks for those with income of up to R$ 20,000 with no debt limit, which allows the refinancing of real estate and vehicles, for example, according to Brazil Agency. Debtors can directly trigger banking institutions to negotiate them.
In that same period, approximately 3.5 million records of customers who had bank debts of up to R$100 were “de-credited” by financial institutions. The amount, however, is different from that informed by the Ministry of Finance last Friday (28), that six million contracts in this range had been removed from the restrictive registers.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Desenrola has the potential to benefit up to 70 million people. Adherence policies are prepared by the financial institutions that adhere to the program.
The conditions for renegotiating debts, at this stage, will be differentiated and it is up to each financial institution to define them. Membership in the program runs until December 31.
