Covid: Brazil registers 7 deaths and 1,073 cases of the disease – 01/22/2023 – Health

Brazil recorded 7 deaths from Covid and 1,073 cases of the disease this Sunday (22). With this update, the country reaches 696,323 lives lost and 36,734,089 people infected by Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

The moving average of cases shows a downward trend of 34% compared to data from two weeks ago. It is now 13,667 a day. The average of deaths is in stability, that is, without variations above or below 15 percentage points. It has a growth of 3% compared to the information of two weeks ago. The average number is 135 a day.

During weekends, some states do not release updated data. Examples are Rio de Janeiro and Mato Grosso do Sul. Therefore, the consolidated numbers of the pandemic on weekends are usually smaller.

The data for the country, collected until 8 pm, are the result of a collaboration between SheetUOL, O Estado de S. Paulo, Extra, O Globo and G1 to gather and publish figures related to the new coronavirus pandemic.

The information is collected daily by the consortium of press vehicles with the state Health Secretariats.
