Next Wednesday (10), a public hearing on the cost of rescheduling and canceling airline tickets will be held by the Consumer Protection Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.
Deputy Márcio Marinho (Republicanos-BA) requested the debate to take place. “The cost of this rescheduling is very high, sometimes even higher than the amount already paid or the purchase price of another ticket, which ends up making it impossible for consumers to reschedule their ticket”, he pointed out.
The deputy also wants to hear airline representatives about the difficulties encountered by consumers in these procedures.
“Another problem found is that, when they get in touch with companies, consumers often find overloaded customer service and confusing instructions on the procedure for changing or canceling their flights”, he added.
Among others were invited:
- the CEO of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), Juliano Alcântara Noman;
- the executive director of Procon in São Paulo, Wilton Ruas da Silva;
- the president of the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company (Infraero), Rogério Amado Barzellay;
- the director-president of the National Union of Airline Companies (SNEA), Antônio Augusto do Poço Pereira;
- the president of the National Transport Confederation (CNT), Vander Francisco Costa;
- the adviser to the presidency of Gol Linhas Aéreas, Alberto Fajerman;
- the chief executive of Latam Linhas Aéreas, Jerome Cadier;
- the chief executive of Azul Linhas Aéreas, John Rodgerson.
The hearing takes place at 10 am, in plenary 8.
