Corinthians surpasses Flamengo in value generated by media – 04/29/2023 – Panel SA

Flamengo is the most valuable club in the country, but it was Corinthians that generated the most income through their social media last year. This is what a survey carried out by the Sports Value consultancy shows.

Last year, Corinthians registered almost US$ 61 million generated in value to the club through posts published on Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and Twitter, against US$ 55.6 million verified on Flamengo’s networks.

The performance draws attention because, still according to the consultancy, Flamengo’s interactions, in total, were much higher than those of Corinthians — 998 million against 663 million.

Another advantage of the Corinthians was seen in the average success rate per post. There were US$ 2,746 in value generated by a Corinthian post against US$ 1,884 among Flamengo supporters.

According to Amir Somoggi, a partner at Sports Value, there is a mine in internet content. In comparison with foreign clubs, national clubs are crawling – they occupy the 15th and 16th position, respectively, in a list of 25 that includes other sports (such as cricket, basketball and F1).

For the leader Chelsea, for example, this amount was US$ 112.5 million. It was followed by Manchester City with $107.4 million.

The potential of Brazilian teams can catapult these extraordinary revenues. “Last year, Corinthians doubled their activity on social media,” said Somoggi.
