The National Congress approved this Wednesday (26) the Bill (PLN 2/23) that authorizes the readjustment of federal public servants. The project, approved this Tuesday (25) by the Joint Budget Commission (CMO), provides for a 9% readjustment for Executive servants starting in May.

In the same session, the project was approved that opens a special credit in the amount of R$ 7.3 billion so that the Ministry of Health can assist in the implementation of the nursing salary floor as of May (PLN 5/23), informed the Agency. Brazil.

The parliamentarians also approved, en bloc, PLN 1/23, which allocates R$ 4 billion to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, to pay expenses of the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT), and PLN 3/23 , which allocates R$ 71.44 billion to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, to pay Bolsa Família, according to Agência Câmara.

In all polls, the only party that was against it was Novo. All bills now move on to presidential sanction. This is the first readjustment agreement signed between the government and civil servants since 2016. The text of the PLN predicts that the impact this year will be R$ 11.6 billion and was practically all included in the 2023 Budget.

Before, the congressmen voted several vetoes of the then president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). They overturned the total veto (59/22) to the bill that reopens the period for deduction, in the Income Tax, of donations made to two assistance programs for cancer patients and people with disabilities: the national programs to support oncology care (Pronon) and Health for Persons with Disabilities (Pronas/PCD). The new opening period will be valid until the calendar year 2025 for individuals and until the calendar year 2026 for legal entities.
