Colombiatex, the main fair for the textile sector in Latin America, will have the participation of 29 Brazilian companies, with expectations of transacting US$ 8 million in business in the three days of the fair and concluding transactions of up to US$ 70 million by the end of the year , according to Texbrasil, a national textile industry internationalization program.
The program includes companies such as Lycra, Brand Têxtil and Elasfil. In addition to Abit (sector association), ApexBrasil (Brazilian export and investment agency) is also part of Texbrasil’s control.
Rafael Cervone, director general of Texbrasil and president emeritus of Abit, affirms that this year’s fair should help the sector to break with the low volume of business of the last two years.
According to the organization, operations in the Brazilian textile sector with Colombia generated almost US$ 80 million between January and October last year.
Colombiatex, which received more than 20,000 visitors in the previous edition, brings together 500 exhibitors from countries such as India, Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Italy and the United States.
