After publishing a beer commercial created by artificial intelligence on a social network, the London producer Private Island received a series of comments from Internet users who sometimes said they were scared, sometimes mocked the plot of the video.

The advertisement is set in the backyard of a house, where a group of people with deformed faces and hands are having a barbecue.

During the video, giant beer cans and columns of fire and smoke take over the scenery, which gives way to an apocalyptic landscape. In the background, the song All Star, by the band Smash Mouth, repeats the verse “And they don’t stop coming”.

“Is this a horror movie trailer?” commented one user in response to the video on Instagram, posted in late April. “Dreams have meanings. My dreams:”, wrote another netizen in reference to the commercial.

Others were also concerned about the images generated. “If this is how AI [inteligência artificial] see humanity, I have no doubt that they will soon try to destroy us “, said an internet user. ′′ Imperfect artificial intelligence already wants to burn humans “, said another.

On its website, Private Island claims that the commercial was entirely created by artificial intelligence and no real people appear in the video.

“You can’t fight the future – but you can probably drink it”, adds the production company, which has in its portfolio commercials made for brands such as Nike and Adobe.
