Amazonas Development Council deliberated on 48 new projects and the generation of more than 2 thousand jobs

Manaus (AM) – The 303rd ordinary meeting of the Development Council of the State of Amazonas (Codam) held this Monday (28), deliberated an agenda with 48 projects and investments estimated at R$ 671.1 million and the generation of more than 2 thousand new jobs of work. The meeting was chaired by Governor Wilson Lima at the auditorium of the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (Fieam), on Avenida Joaquim Nabuco, in the South Zone of Manaus.

The volume of investments demonstrates a scenario of economic recovery, with optimistic expectations in relation to the Industrial Pole of Manaus (PIM), reflecting positive results in the generation of jobs and income for the Amazonian population.

“At this meeting we had the participation of all entities that have an investment role in this investment process in the state of Amazonas. Today, 48 projects have been approved, representing over 2,000 jobs, with over R$600 million in investments. This is an important moment and a significant number of projects, and this is what makes our economy spin and what makes industrial activity in the Amazon more vigorous”,

explained the governor.

The installation of new companies is seen as important for the economy of the state and in the life of the Amazonian population. “At a time when there are more companies investing in the state of Amazonas, there are more jobs being generated. And when a person is hired by a company in the Industrial District, that person has, most of the time, the possibility of sending a child to a private school and having a health plan, and that relieves the pressure on the state. And when this company sets up, it collects ISS for the City Hall; ICMS for the state, that is, there is a movement in the economy, ”he said.

This Tuesday (29), Governor Wilson Lima participates in a meeting with the President of the Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco, in Brasília (DF), to address the issue of tax reform in defense of the competitiveness of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM ).

Codam is a collegiate body with advisory functions for the Government of Amazonas in matters related to economic and social development and in the formulation of the State’s tax and extra-fiscal incentive policy, headed by the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation (Sedecti), which is managed by Serafim Corrêa.

said Sedecti’s secretary, Serafim Corrêa.
