With the thermometers forecast to reach minus 8 degrees, this should be one of the coldest Saturdays of the year, with strong winds and ideal weather for staying indoors under the covers.
To ease the low temperature, the tip of pastry chef Luciana Machado, owner of the Lu Chocolates studio, is the classic chocolate fondue, which, in addition to being simple and quick, is an easy recipe that yields enough for up to four people.
In Machado’s tip, the chocolate can be melted in a water bath or in the microwave, it takes a touch of cognac and is ready in less than 30 minutes.
The fruits are at the discretion of the customer, but the classic indications are strawberries and grapes, and may also include bananas, apricots and even tangerine. Cookies are also an option.

Ingredients
- 500 grams of premium milk chocolate
- 500ml of sour cream
- 500 ml of cognac
Method of preparation
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave stirring every 30 seconds. Repeat until the texture is smooth.
- Add the cream to the melted chocolate and stir until incorporated.
- Add the cognac and mix until the desired point is reached, when all the ingredients are incorporated.
- Transfer to the fondue pot and serve with seasonal fruits.
- Tip: Stir with the fouet to obtain a creamier texture.
