The Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, said this Thursday (27) that the Chinese state-owned company Energy China International has committed to investing US$ 10 billion (R$ 49.8 billion) in Brazil in the coming years for the generation of renewable energy. and production of green hydrogen.

The announcement was made after a meeting with a Chinese delegation that included the company’s president, Lyu Zexiang. According to the minister, the government is “working to strengthen regulatory stability and legal certainty” so that foreign companies invest in Brazil.

“We are very optimistic about the country’s opportunities in generating clean energy, bringing resources and social return to our people”, he said, noting that he had committed himself to the company to strengthen exchanges between the two countries.
