ChatGPT: See Trusted AIs That Boost Productivity – 05/23/2023 – Tech

Several artificial intelligence platforms have been launched since ChatGPT went public in late November. In addition to generating text, these programs search the internet, make content that mixes image and text, and are even capable of performing tasks that require more than one reasoning step.

These technologies are able to plan step by step how to develop a computer program, create slides and resumes. On the other hand, platforms and extensions that are said to be linked to ChatGPT can also serve as bait for scams, which grow amid the advancement of artificial intelligence and require the user to filter which ones are useful and safe.

Cybersecurity company Sophos found, for example, that apps like “ChatGBT” and “Genie” charged to provide the same service available in the free version of ChatGPT. This last program earned around US$ 1 million (about R$ 5 million) to the creators in March alone.

A Sheet has separated reliable applications that can be useful for the tasks listed below.

ORGANIZE PROJECTS

The AgentGPT platform plans how to perform tasks step by step. The user provides a goal for the website and an algorithm asks the artificial intelligence behind ChatGPT what steps are needed to accomplish that goal.

The report, for example, asked the platform to develop a conflict game between warships with two players, using the C++ programming language, popular among developers.

AgentGPT not only spoke of the need to establish the rules of the game, describe the machinery available to players, but also indicated steps to create graphics and data infrastructure, with the repertoire available in C++.

AgentGPT is free and uses a traditional algorithm to create questions to ChatGPT related to different stages of the task in an automated way. The app code is available on GitHub.

Unlike the free version of ChatGPT, AgentGPT is also capable of searching for current information on the internet — the OpenAI chatbot is restricted to information from September 2021;

The technology is adopted in AutoGPT, developed by the same company. This version of the platform requires a download and costs vary according to the amount of text generated.

AgentGPT raises funds through donations and is limited to ten tasks per month.

WRITE AND COMPLETE EMAILS

The Compose AI platform writes and completes emails, similar to what Google intends to do by integrating its artificial intelligence into Gmail. Interested parties need to download an extension to install this feature.

The technology provider is verified by the Google store, which gives security to users. The app’s privacy terms, however, state that Compose AI developers may have access to user communications.

To use the AI, the user needs to type “//”. In the window created by the extension, the person types the task for the AI. This command needs to be done in English, although the result may come out in Portuguese, if this is requested in the question.

The free version of Compose AI delivers up to 1,000 words per month. The US$10 subscription (about R$50) generates 15,000 words a month. Those who pay US$ 29.99 can use the platform as they wish.

SEARCH ON THE WEB

Perplexity.AI responds to internet searches and with succinct text before Google officially announces its future AI-powered search model or ChatGPT being able to browse the internet.

This site uses OpenAI GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 artificial intelligence to deliver answers to user queries. The difference to ChatGPT is the delivery of sources and references for texts generated by AI.

The platform creators, however, do not explain how these references are added to the text. Generating artificial intelligences do not query databases, but deliver the most likely answer to a question based on a probabilistic calculation.

A likely solution is to search for the AI ​​result on the internet and add a reference based on the most similar texts.

Google is working on an update to its search so that its site generates summaries to respond to user queries. That content will be accompanied with a list of links, as it works in the current model. ChatGPT Plus users can make queries on the internet since the last 12th.

VIDEO CALL SECRETARY

The Krisp artificial intelligence takes notes in videoconferences and manages to credit the speeches to different interlocutors.

The result is similar to what Microsoft and Google intend, respectively, by integrating generative AIs into Meet and Teams. These functions have been announced but are not available to users.

Krisp also has a function to cancel external noise from both recorded and received audio. According to the platform’s website, this helps to avoid distractions.

The platform, which can be downloaded from this link, also claims not to store conversation data and use encryption to ensure user privacy.

CREATE SLIDES AND CURRICULUMS

The Kick Resume platform speeds up resume creation by mixing a text-generating AI with pre-built resumes like those on the Canva design platform.

This site takes information from LinkedIn or Gmail and fills in some of the essential data on a resume. The platform claims that it follows privacy policies in accordance with the European Union’s personal data protection law, the GDBR.

The textual part is delivered in English. Interested parties need to rewrite or translate almost the entirety of the document, if they want the content in Portuguese. Artificial intelligence still invents generic information, along the lines of an improved readout generator.

Gamma App follows the same formula of AI generating text plus image templates to deliver simple slideshows and websites.

PROGRAMMING AND SPREADSHEETS

Artificial intelligence can also be used to speed up the creation of computational code and spreadsheet automation.

The Excel Formula Bot extension (the technology can be downloaded here) uses artificial intelligence to generate formulas and codes typical of spreadsheets. Despite the name, the program also works on Google Sheets.

Microsoft’s GitHub Copilot and Amazon’s Code Whisper artificial intelligences also generate code snippets from plain language commands.

Google’s ChatGPT and Bard are also capable of generating programming codes, although they are not integrated into interfaces for program development. Bard, however, is not available in Brazil, although it works in over 180 countries and territories.
