Inspiration and Creation The idea for creating the comic emerged two years ago, during isolation during the Covid-19 pandemic. The artist from Pará said that she found herself facing her birthday alone, hence the desire to buy flowers, as a way of dealing with the frustration. To produce the material, Karipola says that she dedicated 14 hours a day, including corrections and adaptations. “The process of transforming ‘Almost Everything Are Flowers’ from a sketch to reality lasted six intensive months, a true marathon, I needed to adjust my working time to improve the quality of the creative process”, she revealed. The comic’s narrative also reflects the unique experience of people from Pará in the Amazon, highlighting their connection with nature and their cultural roots. Plants, traditional cures and elements of Pará culture are intertwined in the plot, providing a different experience for readers. The artist from Pará is internationally recognized in the world of illustrations and comics, she has taught classes in partnership with Faber-Castell and contributed illustrations to publications in magazines such as Superinteressante and Revista Cláudia.
