Characteristics such as age and where they live, for example, are considered when pricing products. “In some cities, theft has a weight of 50% in the formation of insurance prices”, explains Zanatto. IPSA data point out, for example, that there is a big difference in prices between people who are the same age, but who live in different locations. The same happens between people who live in the same region, but have different age groups. In addition, vehicle characteristics, such as the age and price of the car in the Fipe table, also influence the price of insurance. “Another interesting point is that a hybrid or electric vehicle has insurance, on average, 30% cheaper than a vehicle with gasoline”, says the president of TEx. “One of the explanations is that, as the vehicle is still not very interesting in the parallel market, the volume of thefts is much lower”, he adds. Personalized products With the increase in insurance prices, one of the trends in the segment is the growing demand for personalized products. “Often, insurance with all the coverage does not fit in the consumer’s pocket. And this shows the importance of the broker in this process since, in these cases, we are able to offer some alternatives. We reduced the coverage and lengthened the terms, for example, for those looking for more traditional insurance”, explains Erlichman.
