Calendar interrupts the Brazilian Aid and INSS calendar – 02/16/2023 – Market

The calendar for payments of social and social security benefits will be interrupted throughout Carnival, as well as face-to-face assistance at Social Security agencies and the banking network across the country.

The Auxílio Brasil and Auxílio Gás deposits will have a break for four days: Saturday (18), Sunday (19), Monday (20) and Tuesday (21). The release of values ​​will resume on Ash Wednesday (22) after noon.

In all, 21.86 million families receive, this month, the Brazil Aid and 5.95 million are entitled to the Gas Aid. The government injects R$ 13.2 billion and R$ 667.2 million into the economy, respectively, in the two income transfer programs.

Payment of social benefits began last Monday (13). The release of values ​​occurs according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). Families enrolled in the Auxílio Brasil receive a minimum amount of R$600. In the case of the Auxílio Gás, which is paid every two months, the voucher is R$112 in February.

Those who have the payment released can move the money through Caixa Tem, if they have digital social savings. Whoever receives it directly at Caixa Econômica Federal or at lottery shops with a citizen’s card must make the withdrawal beforehand or will have to wait for the end of the Carnival break.

INSS retirements and pensions will be paid again on the 23rd

In the case of the INSS, the payment schedule will be interrupted for five days, from Saturday (18) to Wednesday (22). The resumption of the release of values ​​will be on Thursday (23). Policyholders receive according to the end of the card, without considering the check digit.

The Social Security payment schedule starts this Friday (17th) for those who receive up to one minimum wage (R$ 1,302 this year) and have a benefit ending in 1. Other beneficiaries, entitled to more than the minimum wage, can only will receive from March 1st. The INSS pays benefits to 37 million policyholders in 2023.

Closing of pension agencies

Social Security agencies will be closed on the 20th and 21st of February, Monday and Tuesday of Carnival. Service will resume on Ash Wednesday (22) for services scheduled from 2 pm.

Benefit requests can be made normally through the Meu INSS app or website. Central 135 will also be open, with service on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. Until 18:00, it is possible to speak with an attendant. After this time, the service is electronic and available for 24 hours.

Through the call center 135, it is possible to obtain information about benefits and payments, schedule an appointment or check the appointment time for face-to-face assistance.

Banks open again on Ash Wednesday

Banks across the country will be closed on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. According to Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks), the closure follows the 2020 resolution of the CMN (National Monetary Council), which does not consider Monday and Tuesday of Carnival as working days for banking services.

On Ash Wednesday, the opening hours will be at 12:00 and the closure will be at the usual time, which varies according to the municipality. In places where branches normally close before 3 pm, the start of banking hours will be anticipated. The intention is to guarantee a minimum of three hours of face-to-face service to the public.

To carry out transactions, however, customers can use ATMs and bank via internet or cell phone. According to Febraban, consumption bills such as water, electricity, telephone and gas, in addition to booklets due on holiday days, can be paid, without interest or penalty, on the following business day, which is Wednesday.

Usually, the tributes already come with dates adjusted to the holiday calendar. “In case that [ajuste de data] did not occur in the collection document, the suggestion is to anticipate the payment or, in the case of titles that have a bar code, schedule the payment at ATMs, internet banking and by telephone at the banks”, says Walter Tadeu de Faria, director of the federation.
