This Wednesday (18), Caixa Econômica Federal will start paying the January installment of the new Bolsa Família with a minimum value of R$600. the program, baptized as Auxílio Brasil in the previous government, is once again called Bolsa Família.

According to the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, in January the income transfer program will reach 21.9 million families, with an expenditure of R$ 13.38 billion. The average amount received per family is equivalent to R$ 614.21.

The minimum value of BRL 600 was guaranteed after the enactment of the PEC fury-ceiling, which allowed the spending of up to BRL 145 billion outside the spending ceiling this year, of which BRL 70 billion are destined to fund the benefit. Payment of the additional R$ 150 for families with children up to 6 years old has not yet started. According to the government, this extra amount will only start to be paid from March.

Last week, the Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Wellington Dias, said that the government will comb through the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) to eliminate fraud in the program.
