Caixa Econômica Federal resumes this week the line of credit for MEIs (individual micro-entrepreneurs), micro, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs. R$ 3.9 billion will be made available to companies with annual gross income of up to R$ 300 million.
It is possible to borrow between BRL 5,000 and BRL 5 million, according to billing and credit analysis, to be paid in up to 60 months, with the possibility of up to a 12-month grace period.
According to Caixa, this line of credit is exempt from contracting fees and IOF (Tax on Financial Operations). Hiring can be requested at the bank’s branches and through Caixa’s Wholesale Network offices.
For entrepreneurs who have already contracted a loan guaranteed by the FGI (Fundo Garantidor para Investimentos) from 2022 onwards, the maximum amount will consider previous operations, according to the fund’s rules.
The resources are made available in the form of working capital with no specific destination, and can be applied in investments, purchase of machinery and equipment, operating expenses, payment of employee salaries, purchase of raw materials, goods, among others.
Partnership with trade associations
In an agreement signed this Tuesday (11) with the CACB (Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil), Caixa promised a reduction of up to 33% in interest rates for micro and small entrepreneurs.
According to the federal bank, more than 2.1 million companies could benefit from the agreement.
“For member companies, working capital lines are available for contracting with rates starting at 1.21% pm and investments for the purchase of machinery and equipment can be contracted with rates starting at 1.34% pm. The bank also offers differentiated conditions for the Company Check”, says Caixa, in a press release.
