Caged: Brazil opens 180,000 formal jobs – 05/31/2023 – Market

Brazil opened 180,005 formal job openings in April, according to the Caged (General Register of Employed and Unemployed), released this Wednesday (31) by the MTE (Ministry of Labor and Employment).
Last month’s result, which was below expectations in the Reuters survey, of net creation of 204.8 thousand jobs, was the result of 1,865,279 admissions and 1,685,274 million dismissals.
In March, Brazil had created 192,915 formal jobs, a result that followed the net increase of 247,326 jobs in February, in the adjusted series.
In the accumulated result for the year up to April, the balance of formal jobs in Brazil is positive at 705,709 jobs, according to the adjusted series. From January to April 2022, the balance was positive at 825,490 jobs.
In April, there was a positive balance of vacancies in the five major groups of economic activities, with emphasis on services, which opened 103,894 jobs. In the industry sector, 18,713 formal jobs were created, in the construction sector, 26,937, and in commerce, 27,559. In agriculture, in turn, 2,902 jobs were opened in net terms.
The data showed a positive balance of jobs created in all five regions of the country.
The Southeast opened the largest number of vacancies, with a reading of 106,250, followed by the South (27,927), Midwest (25,002), Northeast (11,166) and North (10,840).
Regarding the real average admission salary, there was an increase in April to R$ 2,015.58, with a real increase (discounting inflation) of 2.26% (R$ 44.47) in relation to March.
