Brotas, father, João Paulo and tour: singer Daniel recalls his 40-year career in country music

In an interview with EPTV, the 54-year-old sertanejo spoke of the expectation for the series of shows in 15 cities in the country, starting this Wednesday (3) in his homeland in the interior of São Paulo. He considers Brotas, a municipality in the interior of São Paulo that has around 24,000 inhabitants, a “great inspiration for everything”. “I was born there, I was raised and I never imagined myself anywhere else. At the beginning of my career, João Paulo and I visited radio stations in Brazil and people said it was from Brotas. And why not São Paulo, which is a great center? Brotas is Brotas. It is where all the people who are part of my family live together until today. Friends remain. In addition to being my land, it is a place where I feel good, ”he said. When I saw the waterfall [artificial], what a good thing, even that we make a point of taking to people. A little bit of our essence, really. Being able to kick things off after recording the DVD in my hometown will be great because it’s been a long time since I’ve sung there like that, like that. We did a lot of launches there. It will be a present for me on the city’s birthday. That party marked my life in every way. The first flirt, the first date and the first show practically. We went there to perform when we released the first LP there in 1985”, he said. He supported us in the first recording, we recorded the first vinyl and that’s when we started to realize what we had ahead of us, how much we had to accomplish. We left with the little disc under our arm spreading the word where we could and my father was our driver, our supporter, our manager. He was the right arm, always was. João Paulo was my duo partner, but my eternal partner is my father. This guy is very special, different”, he said with emotion. The singer recalled the project ‘De Pai para Filho’, which had the participation of the 84-year-old retiree. “We did some work together recently. It was a quick summary of the things we lived at that time, when I was five, six years old, and from time to time I traveled with him in the truck seat. I separated a repertoire of songs that we sang. We recorded it there on the farm and ended up making a vinyl and a DVD of that project,” he said.
