Brazil takes coffee from 12 Geographical Indications to fair in Europe %%page%%

Brazil will take specialty coffees from 12 different regions to the world of coffee, in Antennae, Greece. The products have geographical indications (GIs), and the action is part of the project Brazil, The Coffee Nation, developed by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The 12 origins with geographical indications seek to meet the demands of the European market, the main consumer of Brazilian coffees. “Just delivering quality is no longer enough, which is why BSCA works with a very important tripod, which involves quality, sustainability and origin, which is a reality of Brazilian specialty coffee. Showing this in our main market is a response to European aspirations about our production of traceable specialty coffee and with respect to socio-environmental governance, guaranteeing a prominent position for Brazil”, explains Vinicius Estrela, executive director of BSCA.
The Brazilian participation in the previous edition of the world of coffee, in 2022, generated more than US$ 21.894 million in face-to-face negotiations and US$ 93.630 million in the next 12 months, through the 1193 commercial contacts made at the fair. The expectation that this year’s numbers are equivalent or higher.
At the event, Brazil will also have representatives at the World Barista Championships, brewers It is Cup Tasters.
