Brazil creates 130 thousand formal jobs in November

Brazil created 130,097 formal jobs in November, according to Novo Caged, the General Register of Employed and Unemployed. The data was released this Thursday (28). The result represents an increase of 1.7% compared to November last year, when 127,832 thousand vacancies were created.

Last month, there were 1,866,752 admissions and 1,736,655 dismissals. The majority of formal jobs were recorded in the services sector (92,620) and commerce (88,706). Among the states, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul recorded the highest balances in November. The average admission salary was R$2,021.73, a drop of R$9.63 compared to October and an increase of R$27.98 compared to November 2022.

According to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, between January and November 1.9 million jobs were opened. The total stock of workers in formal jobs reached 44.35 million with last month’s result. In the services sector, a highlight of November, there were more job opportunities in the areas of information, communication and financial, real estate, professional and administrative activities, reported the Brazil Agency.

In commerce, more vacancies were opened in the retail sector of clothing and accessories, general merchandise, with a predominance of food products and supermarkets, in addition to footwear retailers. According to a government analysis, the seasonal impact brought a drop in formal employment in sectors such as industry, with 12,911 fewer jobs, and construction, with 17,300 fewer formal vacancies.
