Brazil Aid: fraudulent registration can be canceled – 02/16/2023 – Market

This Thursday (16), the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight against Hunger (MDS) enabled the possibility of deleting records of families with a single person in the Cadastro Único application. The objective would be to encourage the voluntary departure of those who are in an irregular situation to receive a second payment from the Brazil Aid.

According to the MDS, this action is motivated by the rise in “single-person registrations”: the number of families covered by the program increased from 14 million to 22 million, between December 2020 and December 2022, driven by the growth of households with a single member .

“From the exclusion, these people will be able, without haste, to look for the places of assistance in the cities and carry out the correct registration in their families”, says the folder in a communiqué published this Thursday aiming to avoid overload in the Social Assistance Reference Centers (Cras ).

To rule out fraud, the federal government will comb through 5 million beneficiaries of the Auxílio Brasil, which will once again be called Bolsa Família. Members of single families will need to report to the Single Registry to prove that they do not live in a household with more people.

“The objective of this initiative is to open the door and join hands with the poorest, include those who are outside and meet the criteria and exclude those who are receiving irregularly. Those who really need the transfer of income will not be disconnected”, he said, in a statement from this Wednesday (15), Wellington Dias, who commands the MDS.

Single-person registrations of beneficiaries of the Continued Provision Benefit (BPC) and homeless people are not part of this action.

CadÚnico is a registry that identifies and characterizes low-income families, a public of social policies. Today, there are 40.7 million families registered. The design proposed by the administration of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) in the formulation of the Auxílio Brasil does not consider family composition as a criterion for transferring the benefit, which must be reviewed by the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).

The MDS also announced, on Wednesday, that it will verify 2.5 million beneficiaries who show signs of income irregularities and do not meet the program’s criteria, according to a survey by the Union’s Comptroller General.

On a visit to the MTST (Movement of Homeless Workers) solidarity kitchen on the 9th, the minister even mentioned cases of people with an income of nine minimum wages (R$ 11,718 today) who would be receiving the benefit.

HOW TO DELETE THE IRREGULAR REGISTRATION

The beneficiary must download the Cadastro Único program from the Play Store, for Android smartphone owners, or from the App Store, for iPhone owners, and follow the steps below:

• On the home screen, click on “Simple Query”
• Enter the CPF and password information in the indicated fields and click “Continue”
• In the top left corner of the screen, click the back arrow
• On the home screen, the option “Cancel your registration” will appear, with a red icon — press it
• An information window will appear. Click the “Cancel your registration” button
• Then check the data and click “Confirm” if you want to delete the record

WHO IS RIGHT TO BRAZIL AID

Citizens who are part of families:

• In extreme poverty, with income of up to R$ 105 per person in the family (per capita)
• In poverty, with income between R$ 105.01 and R$ 210 per person in the family (per capita)
• Under the emancipation rule, when the beneficiary gains a formal job, but remains entitled to receive the benefit if the income per person in the family is up to R$ 525
• To receive it, however, you must be enrolled in CadÚnico (Cadastro Único). It is necessary to pre-register through the website or application and then confirm the data in the Cras of the city halls. The deadline for confirmation is up to 120 days.
