‘Brands paid more attention’

Printing the cover of an important electronic magazine is the desire of many professional models. A few years ago, the dream of Brazilian top model Gabriela Godoi came true the moment she said “yes” to star in the latest 2020 bridal edition of “Harper’s Bazaar”. “The issue was dedicated to all women who have suffered the heartbreak of postponing their big days due to Covid-19,” she said.

According to Gabriela Godoi, the invitation to make the cover of the magazine was sudden. “I received a message from my agency, asking if I could confirm availability and I said yes. The day before the shooting, they confirmed the editorial and told me that I would also do the cover”, she recalls.

The preparations for taking the photos were “smooth”, according to Gabriela Godoi, who details the step-by-step of the very special shoot: “I arrived on set at 9 am to do my hair and makeup. When it was around 11 o’clock, I was already photographing. The only thing that was different about this shooting is that they had a lot of security because the jewelry was extremely valuable. It would click and I had to take the necklace off, or even when I had to go get some water. There were five or six armed professionals, looking at and taking care of the jewelry,” she says.

It was from the starry shoot for “Harper’s Bazaar”, bridal edition, that Gabriela Godoi felt greater recognition as a model. “After you do an international cover like this and in partnership with such a renowned brand, which was Cartier, recognition increases. The brands paid more attention to my career”, she celebrates.
