Brahma Double Malt beer gets 3 new variations – 05/19/2023 – Full Glass

Success since its birth, in 2020, Brahma Duplo Malte was a sure shot by Ambev. At the time, for one of these random reasons, the discussion was whether a pure malt beer was superior to a non-double malt one (a meaningless discussion among experts, but one that caught the novice consumer). And while everyone claimed to have a single malt to call their own, Brahma appeared with a double malt. Bingo.
After launching a dark version last year —which was hard to find, by the way—, the brand decided to abuse it and now comes with three new variations, all with the same proposal of combining two malts (pilsner plus one).
One is the same dark version as 2022, which has now been renamed Black, in the same black 350ml can. The other novelties are wheat beer (blue can) and tostada (half orange or golden). These last two have 4.9% alcohol content, a little more than the traditional and Black (4.7%).
For Gustavo Castro, director of innovation at Ambev, the common denominator among the four variations is creaminess. “But they bring very different flavor experiences,” he says.
“We started from the premise of bringing new beer options, without increasing the complexity, sharpening the senses and, at the same time, being easy for the consumer to understand. plan, until we arrive at the perfect combinations”, adds Laura Aguiar, the group’s director of brewing knowledge and culture.
To arrive at the three new combinations, Aguiar says that more than 20 prototypes were analyzed, which went through internal tastings.
Unlike last year, when the dark version was only seasonally released, the three new beers enter the fixed line of BDM. Always in a 350 ml can, the variations already enter the main markets this month of May. The suggested value should be R$ 0.20 higher than the traditional Duplo Malte.
