Bradesco: Development is ‘timely and opportune’ – 07/14/2023 – Market

The president of Bradesco, Octavio de Lazari Junior, praised the Desenrola Brasil program, aimed at renegotiating overdue debts.

“The program is timely and opportune, as it directly impacts a huge mass of people who have lost consumption conditions due to indebtedness and difficulties in honoring these debts”, said Lazari Junior in a note.

Desenrola Brasil will go into operation next Monday (17th), when 1.5 million Brazilians who owe up to R$100 will be removed from the negative list and citizens with incomes of up to R$20,000 will be able to renegotiate their debts directly with Financial Institution.

The five largest banks in the country –Bradesco, Banco do Brasil, Itaú Unibanco, Caixa Econômica and Santander– have already announced that they will join Desenrola.

According to Bradesco, the renegotiation will be carried out under special conditions and always in line with the payment capacity of each interested party.

“We have full interest in the program, our adhesion is full. We consider this partnership between the banks and the federal government a quick and efficient means of organizing and giving health to the domestic budget”, said the president of Bradesco.

The bank reported that it will make all its digital and physical service and relationship channels available to customers interested in joining the Desenrola program starting next Monday (17).

“Bradesco will give all the necessary support to give scope and robustness to Desenrola, either with information to the client, or with transparency and fluidity in the negotiations”, stated Lazari Júnior.

The kick-off of the program was given with the publication of an ordinance in the Official Gazette of the Union this Friday (14).

“We are now presenting to President Lula the start of the operation. Bearing in mind that these are negative debts up to December 31, 2022. Therefore, it is the aftermath of all the problems that Brazil faced up to that date”, said Minister Fernando Haddad, after meet with the representative this Friday morning.

Debts registered until December 31, 2022 may be renegotiated, and the debtor will have a minimum period of 12 months to settle the debts.
