Bom Gourmet Festival returns to Porto Alegre with consecrated houses

The biggest gastronomy festival in the south of Brazil, the Festival Bom Gourmetis back in Porto Alegre to bring gastronomic experiences for all palates, at a fixed and democratic price.

So far, renowned and trendy establishments in Porto Alegre have already confirmed their participation, including restaurants Bah, Chiwawa, Di Paolo, Eat Kitchen, Mercearia Bresser, Pecorino, Press Hilário, Poa Parrilla, Poa Café Armazém; Poor Juan. They are restaurants of different specialties, from seafood, meats, artisanal pizza, and located from north to south of the city.

From the 3rd to the 26th of March, the participating restaurants will offer complete and exclusive menus for lunch and dinner – with starter, main course and dessert – for a fixed price of R$69.90 or R$89.90. The price of the menu does not include drinks and service fees.

This will be the second time that the renowned event, created in Curitiba seven years ago, fills the capital of Rio Grande do Sul with flavors and aromas – the first edition was in 2020.

Festival Bom Gourmet is a product of Pinó, Gazeta do Povo’s innovation unit, which has an audience of more than 300,000 readers in Porto Alegre. In the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, it has the institutional support of the City Hall, through the Directorate of Events, in addition to the Porto Alegre and Metropolitan Region Convention & Visitors Bureau and Abrasel Rio Grande do Sul (Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants).

“This type of initiative is very positive, as it values ​​the cuisine of Rio Grande do Sul and allows more people to get to know the different gastronomy alternatives that we have in the city, which is also very good for restaurants and public spaces in Porto Alegre”, celebrates Rogério Beidacki, director of events for the Municipality of POA.

In Curitiba, the Festival Bom Gourmet is a consolidated success. Held twice a year, for 16 editions it has taken thousands of people to restaurants in the capital of Paraná, including waiting lists of entrepreneurs due to high demand.

“We have a champion product for the audience, public and business generation for restaurants and partners. We mark the resumption of national expansion with the event in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul and we want to build in Porto Alegre a strong and solid product as is the event in Paraná”, says journalist Deise Campos, head of Festival Bom Gourmet Brasil.

In the capital of Paraná, the event takes around 3,000 people a day to the city’s restaurants and in 2022 generated revenue of more than R$ 5 million for participants.

The goal now is to take all this success to Porto Alegre!

But in addition to the greater circulation in gastronomy establishments in the capital of Rio Grande do Sul, a challenge for restaurants is to bring out creativity in the menu and think of exclusive menus for the Bom Gourmet Festival.

For João Melo, president of the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel Rio Grande do Sul), this is the chance to innovate and create a scenario in which everyone wins, from the customer to the workers in the field.

Vinicius Pujol, commercial manager of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, also understands that the Bom Gourmet Festival has the power to increase the visibility of restaurants. “Porto Alegre has a lot to gain, as it is an important gastronomic center in the southern region of Brazil, with several renowned and internationally known chefs and restaurants”.
