Bolsa Família will inject BRL 437 million into the economy of Amazonas

Manaus (AM) – In July, Amazonas will receive R$ 437 million from Bolsa Família, an amount that will benefit 618,809 low-income family groups. The average value of the benefit is R$ 742.84. The payment schedule starts this Tuesday (18), for beneficiaries with a Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 1. Transfers continue until the 31st.

In the state, to guarantee the well-being of 347,635 children from zero to six years old who are part of the family composition of those benefited by the program, the Federal Government is transferring R$ 48.8 million. There is an additional R$ 150 per child in the Early Childhood Benefit.

Another R$ 27.1 million benefit 612,590 people who receive the Variable Family Benefit, which serves 31,088 pregnant women and 581,502 children and adolescents aged between seven and 18 years with an additional R$ 50.

The capital Manaus concentrates the highest amounts to be received and the number of families contemplated. That’s R$ 172.1 million for 245,740 beneficiaries. Then comes the municipality of Parintins, which will have R$ 15.3 million for 20,644 families. In Manacapuru, there are 21,147 who will receive R$ 13.7 million. Another R$ 11.3 million will serve 14,692 families in Maués. As for Itacoatiara, there are R$ 11 million, distributed among 15,532 families.

Of the 62 locations in the Amazon, the highest average Bolsa Família amount will be paid to the 4,288 families living in Santo Antônio do Içá: R＄ 888.74, totaling a transfer of R$ 3.2 million. Soon after, the 7,796 in São Gabriel da Cachoeira appear, with an average value of the benefit of R$ 879.95. The 4,697 beneficiaries of Jutaí come in third, with an average value of R$ 878.63; followed by Benjamin Constant, with R$ 864.37; and Itamarati, with R$ 851.21.

Brazil

In the country as a whole, there are 20.9 million families covered by Bolsa Família in July, or 54.3 million people. The total investment by the Federal Government is R＄ 14 billion. The average amount received per family is R＄ 684.16. Among family heads, 82% are women: 17.1 million.

In July, 9.13 million children from zero to six years of age included in the family composition of beneficiaries receive an additional R＄ 150 of the Early Childhood Benefit. The federal transfer related to this benefit is R＄ 1.28 billion.

Another 15.7 million people receive the R＄ 50 expected from the Variable Family Benefit, including pregnant women (881 thousand), children aged between seven and 15 years (12.3 million) and adolescents aged between 16 and 18 years (2.5 million) . The investment is R＄ 715 million.

Out of line

The consolidation of the new Bolsa Familia protection cushion already allowed 18.5 million families to leave the poverty line last month, which is R＄ 218 per capita per household. There are 43.5 million people who raised their income above this level.

“The objective is to remove Brazil from the Hunger Map and food insecurity and reduce poverty”, summarized the Minister of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS), Wellington Dias.

According to the rules of the new Bolsa Família, there is an incentive for people to get a formal job. Families that experience growth in per capita income up to the limit of R＄ 660 per member remain in the program for up to two years, receiving half of the Bolsa Família amount. It’s called the Protection Rule. In July, there are 2.1 million families in this condition. The average value received by them is R＄ 378.91.

Crossing

Since the beginning of the year, the Federal Government has been making adjustments to the Cadastro Único database to ensure that the families that really need the resources are in the database.

This involves both an active search for families in vulnerable conditions that are off the list and the crossing of data with federal platforms, such as the National Social Information Register (CNIS), to prevent people from unduly receiving the benefit. This July, 300,000 new families were qualified and 378,000 were suspended from the program.

Regions

In the breakdown by regions, the Northeast concentrates the largest number of families covered by Bolsa Família. There are 9.59 million families from an investment of 6.3 billion. The Southeast appears next, with 6.21 million beneficiaries (R$ 4.1 billion). The list is completed with 2.55 million beneficiaries in the North (R$ 1.7 billion), 1.42 million families in the South (R$ 962 million) and 1.11 million in the Midwest (R$ 772 million ).

States

In the division by Federative Units, São Paulo concentrates the largest number of families contemplated. There are BRL 2.53 million in beneficiaries, based on an investment of BRL 1.7 billion. Next comes Bahia, with 2.51 million families and R$ 1.65 billion in transfers.

Another six states have more than one million beneficiaries: Rio de Janeiro (1.7 million), Pernambuco (1.64 million), Minas Gerais (1.6 million), Ceará (1.4 million), Pará (1. 3 million) and Maranhão (1.2 million). The state with the highest average transfer value is Roraima, with R$753.52, followed by Amazonas (742.84) and Acre (R$742.27).
