Bolsa Família 2023 calendar: government releases payment – 03/20/2023 – Market

This Monday (20), Caixa Econômica Federal starts paying for the new Bolsa Família, a program that was the hallmark of the PT’s management and is now reformulated, replacing Auxílio Brasil. R$ 14.1 billion will be paid to 21.2 million families.

Changes to the program include an extra payment of R$150 for children aged up to six who are in school, in addition to the base value of R$600. between seven and 18 years from June.

Government calculations are that, on average, families will receive R$ 714 this month.

Payment continues until March 31, according to the end of the NIS (Social Identification Number). Those with final NIS 1 receive first. On the 31st, it is the turn of those who have the benefit with the ending zero. According to Caixa, the cards and passwords of the former Auxílio Brasil can be used normally for withdrawals.

The amount can also be withdrawn at bank branches, lottery shops, ATMs and Caixa Aqui correspondents. For those who receive through Caixa Tem there will be no changes.

How will Bolsa Família 2023 be paid?

In addition to the additional ones, another change is that the minimum monthly income per person (per capita) to be part of the program (called the poverty line) rose to R$ 218, R$ 8 more than it was in 2022.

Ordinance published last Friday (17) made the measure official and brought new rules for the validity of the benefit, which is now in force for 24 months (two months). The Auxílio Brasil determined the payment for 12 to 24 months (one to two years).

Another alteration was the family income limit to be entitled to the benefit. 3 – Family with two members

A mother head of the family, who is pregnant, plus a two-year-old son. Will be paid:

• Price per family: BRL 600
• Pregnant mother: R$ 50
• Two-year-old child: BRL 150
• Total: BRL 800

Who is entitled to the new Bolsa Família?

Families with family income per person of up to R$ 218 registered in the Single Registry.

How is the benefit calculated?

There will be a basic benefit per person. Each member of the family will receive R$ 142 per month. There is also a guarantee of a minimum payment of BRL 600 per family, that is, if the sum of benefits is not enough, the government will pass on a supplementary amount to ensure this floor.

The program’s new format also provides for an additional R$ 150 per child aged 0 to 6 years, and another R$ 50 for children and adolescents between 7 and 18 years of age, as well as for pregnant women.

The government calculates that the average benefit will be around BRL 714 per family – more than the current BRL 606.91.

How much did the Lula government set aside to pay for Bolsa Família?

The government has R$ 175 billion secured in 2023 for the program. Internal government estimates indicate that actual spending should be between R$168 billion and R$175 billion.

How many people will receive the benefit?

The government should serve 21.2 million families this month. In the year, the forecast is 20.8 million families. The reduction is explained by the exclusion of families that received the Brazil Aid irregularly. Even so, there will be the inclusion of around 700,000 families that are currently not covered by the policy.

When will all the benefits linked to the new Bolsa Família be paid?
