Curitiba brewery Bodebrown was awarded the Platinum Medal at the MBeer Contest Brazil, for its St. Arnould Wood Aged beer. The competition, organized by Mondial de La Bière, is one of the biggest in the country and ended this Sunday, in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to the platinum medal, the Curitiba brand also won a gold medal, for Lupulol Mosaic, which made it the most awarded brewery in this edition of the festival.

“This event is one of the biggest international references, also having editions in Montreal, Canada, and Mulhouse, France. Its history greatly values innovation, which only reinforces our joy with these new victories”, explains Samuel Cavalcanti, executive director of Bodebrown. “We have already participated on three continents and now we have three platinum and 22 gold medals.”

St. Arnould Wood Aged is a Belgian Dark Strong Ale, aged in oak barrels. Lululol Mosaic, in turn, is a Hazy Strong Pale Ale.

In addition to the medals, Bodebrown also stood out for being the brewery that sold the most at the event, surpassing the three thousand liter mark.

The MBeer Contest is a competition without defined categories, in which a group of evaluators taste the labels blindly. Experts assign notes on aroma, flavor, mouthfeel and pleasure provided, to then decide the winners. Launched in 1994, in Canada, the contest gained its Brazilian version in 2013, in Rio de Janeiro.
