Boca Rosa: Up-to-date mental health is worth a lot of money – 05/02/2023 – Tech

The influencer Bianca Andrade, better known as Boca Rosa, said this Wednesday (2) that, to stay creative, she invests in mental health care, because “being well is worth a lot of money”. She was one of the speakers at Web Summit Rio, the first edition of the event in Latin America, which discusses technology.

The creative director of makeup brand Boca Rosa Beauty recently returned from a month-long break from social media to recover from tonsil surgery. However, the “detox” period also served to take care of the mind.

“People say I’m more serene, speaking more calmly,” he joked to listeners.

Bianca claims her position as director is directly linked to maintaining mental health and that, if you are not taking care of yourself, you cannot produce.

She says that one of the factors that makes her have an anxiety attack is the comparison on the networks with the lives of other people, but that, upon returning from the “sabbatical month”, she is in a moment of reflection on her work.

For Bianca, creating digital content is like being on an island and, being on it, it is not possible to see it. Only when you step back does the situation as a whole become visible.

Being on this “island”, people’s approval weighs on the work of influencers, according to her, and those who enter this business need to depend less on it.

“Opinions only need to aggregate and not dictate the way I do my work. When you allow yourself to be authentic, even if it divides opinions. There is long-term value, numbers do not.”

In August 2022, Bianca Andrade lost thousands of followers after declaring a vote for current President Lula (PT). At the time, she said: “You can call me red mouth, my president”.

At the Web Summit, alongside Konrad Dantas, producer better known as Kondzilla, and João Pedro Resende, CEO of Hotmart, Boca Rosa addressed how algorithms impact mental health.

For Kondzilla, the algorithm achieves fast and seduces, but it is important that the content creator “calibrate” his part. João Pedro Resende says that algorithms are directly related to anxiety and that in order to grow in the digital field, it is necessary not to depend on them and on big techs, but rather to treat the creative career as a company.

Bianca started publishing content on the internet at age 16. She lived in the Maré favela complex, wore a pink lipstick similar to that of a famous brand, and gained relevance by giving tips on cheaper makeup products. Today, she has 18.8 million followers on Instagram and 5.6 million on YouTube.

A few years later, he launched lines of beauty products in partnership with brands, until he had his own business. She also did work as an actress and participated in the Big Brother Brasil program in 2020.
