The BNDES subscribed R$ 1.8 billion in infrastructure debentures in a public offering carried out by the Iguá Rio concessionaire, of the Iguá Saneamento group, which totaled R$ 3.8 billion.
According to the statement from the development bank sent on Monday night (26), this is the largest incentivized issuance in the history of the country’s infrastructure sector.
The total issuance comprised R$ 2 billion in debentures with interest of IPCA + 8.20% and maturity in 20 years; and R$ 1.8 billion in debentures with interest of IPCA + 7.97% and maturity in 29 years, according to data released by Iguá Saneamento.
“The participation of the BNDES made the issuance possible at a time of liquidity restriction in the market and a reduction in debenture issues in general, resulting from recent corporate events”, stated the BNDES.
Iguá already has 15 concession contracts in its portfolio, including Iguá Rio, in addition to three Public-Private Partnership contracts, serving more than 7 million people in six states of the country.
