The BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development) nominated former minister Celso Pansera for the presidency of ABDE (Brazilian Development Association).
The name of Pansera, who took over the command of Finep (Innovation and Research Financier) last month, should also have the support of other public banks for the nomination.
With more than 30 members, including federal public banks, development banks, cooperative banks and development agencies, ABDE represents almost 45% of credit in the country.
Like the president of the BNDES, Aloizio Mercadante, Pansera was also Minister of Science and Technology in Dilma Rousseff’s government.
The election for the post, with the board to be defined by the ticket, should take place in May, when the mandate of the current president of ABDE, Jeanette Lontra, from Badesul, ends.
