The postal unions in the cities of Bauru (SP) and the states of Rio de Janeiro and Maranhão, represented by Findect (Interstate Federation of Post Office Workers’ Unions), approved this Wednesday (22) the proposal sent by the company and decided not to go on strike.
Workers’ representatives from the city of São Paulo will still speak at another meeting, this Thursday (23), but the tendency is for the company’s proposal to be approved.
The strike would begin on Thursday, the day before Black Friday. According to the entity, the strike was a response to what the federation called Correios’ refusal to resolve issues related to the signing of a collective agreement.
According to the federation, the company presented a term correcting 12 of the 26 demands, and the unions guided the workers towards approval.
Among the measures agreed is a salary adjustment of R$250 for employees from January 2024 for those who receive up to R$7,000. The Post Office will also grant an extra R$1,500 credit for food vouchers.
Earlier, Correios reported that the company was prepared to guarantee normal services during Black Friday, if the assemblies of these unions had approved a partial and punctual strike.
