Embrapii (Brazilian Company for Research and Industrial Innovation) started a survey to map the situation of the bioeconomy in the country. The idea is to consolidate the data until the end of September and identify who works in the sector to participate in international debates on the subject.
The connection with other countries is led by the World Bioeconomy Forum, an organization that brings together development agencies and research institutes from 90 countries.
According to Embrapii, the intention of the forum is to discover regions, research centers and companies that develop bioeconomy strategies. The objective is also to raise types of content and funding applied.
In addition to Embrapii, which runs the project in Brazil, the research centers at the Technological University of Michigan (USA), the Industrial Biotechnology Institute of Tianjin (China), VTT, a Finnish government research institution, VITO, a Belgian research center, among others.
