Manaus (AM) – In allusion to the National Health Day, the State Department of Health of Amazonas (SES-AM), through the Home Assistance Management, carried out, this Sunday (06), several activities in the free lane of the Ponta Negra neighborhood, zone west of Manaus. The objective of the action was also to present the Better at Home Program to the population.
The presentation of the Better at Home Program took place through leafleting and exhibition of informative banners. On the occasion, some health professionals were present, such as nutritionists, who carried out consultations on food education and answered questions from the population about healthy eating and quality of life. There were also services for measuring blood pressure, blood glucose, weight consultation, among others, totaling 105 visits.
The coordinator of the Better at Home Program, Semira Torres, highlighted the objective of promoting this action among people who frequent the free lane in Ponta Negra on Sundays.
“We are here making the first sample of the program, presenting the Program to society with activities focused on health, as this month is the national health day. Why in Ponta Negra? Because here there is a very large flow on Sundays, so it was very strategic”,

Better at Home Program
The program brings together a set of health promotion, disease prevention and treatment and rehabilitation actions, carried out at home by multidisciplinary teams.
One of the purposes of “Better at Home” is to reduce the length of hospital stay for patients whose condition is stabilized, without aggravation, but still in need of systematic care, such as dressings, tube changes, medication, respiratory physiotherapy, among other procedures. therapeutic or prophylactic, which can be performed at home.
“Today our program has approximately 630 patients at home, continuing the treatment at home, who are assisted by a multidisciplinary team that includes a physiotherapist, nursing technician, speech therapist, nutritionist, social service, dental surgeon, clinical surgeon, among other partners. ”,
concluded the program coordinator.
Currently, the program serves the capital and is also being implemented in the municipalities of Tabatinga, Lábrea, Presidente Figueiredo, Iranduba and Autazes.
