The first film, directed by Matt Reeves and available on streaming now, won over audiences for its respectful adaptation of the hero and for creating a world that allows it to be explored to the fullest. With the “Penguin” series made official, fans can already speculate about the sequel to the “Batman” franchise. What to expect from the big screen sequel?

At the end of the first film, Gotham is destroyed after the terrorist acts of the Riddler (Paul Dano) and his followers, and with a vacuum in the power of organized crime – which, as is already known, will be filled by the Penguin throughout the HBO miniseries Max. If Reeves follows the comics, Carmine Falcone (John Turturro) may have left some heirs to his criminal empire. It would be interesting to see how these new names would try to take back power and how Gotham and Batman would react to a gang war during the process of rebuilding the city.

This situation makes room for the arrival of people who take on important roles in Gotham’s recovery, such as Tommy Elliot. He is a billionaire and childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, and eventually becomes the villainous Hush.

There is also the possibility that Batman will assume a more public position in the eyes of the city, running Wayne Enterprises and spearheading philanthropic projects.

In the first film, the relationship between Batman and Catwoman was well introduced, with the chemistry between Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz becoming a top topic on social media at the time of release. However, their characters practically only meet on their missions, which makes a relationship difficult. Starting a relationship between Bruce and Selina, and not between Batman and the Cat, would work on the dynamics of the actors and open the door to a reproduction of one of the most iconic relationships in pop culture.

The film could also feature a good build-up of Robin in theaters, focusing on the dynamic duo’s relationship and how Bruce takes on a tutoring role. Seeing him adopting a child who recently lost his parents would also bring a good conclusion to the arc started in the new feature, in which the hero shows empathy for children who, like him, were orphaned early.
