Around R$500 million in debts were renegotiated in the first five days of the Desenrola Brasil Program, according to data from the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) released this weekend. In this first phase of the program, exclusively for Level 2, there were more than 150,000 debt contracts of up to R$100.
Customers with this type of debt can join the program until December 31st. “The numbers reinforce the commitment of Brazilian banks to the success of the Desenrola Brasil program”, says Febraban.
According to the entity, each bank has its own business strategy and adopts its own policies for joining Desenrola. “The conditions for renegotiating debts, at this stage, will be differentiated and it will be up to each financial institution that joins the program to define them”, he added.
Among state-owned banks, R$51 million were renegotiated by Caixa Econômica Federal and R$255 million by Banco do Brasil, according to data released on Friday (21).
Banco do Brasil reported that it renegotiated a total of BRL 1 billion, as it also covered other defaulting publics, such as micro and small companies and individuals in general, in addition to those with incomes of up to BRL 20,000.
