Manaus (AM) – The June payment of Bolsa Família began this Monday (19) and reaches unprecedented levels in Amazonas. The average received per family jumped from R$697 in May to R$760 in June, the highest amount ever recorded in the history of the Federal Government’s income transfer program in the state.

The Amazon municipality with the highest average value is Santo Antônio do Icá, with R$908. São Gabriel da Cachoeira (R$895) and Jutaí (R$894) complete the list of the three with the highest average value in the state. The transfer to pay the 632 thousand beneficiary families of Bolsa Família in Amazonas totals R$ 480 million in June, compared to R$ 424 million in May.

The novelty that justifies the increase in resources is the start of payment of the Variable Family Benefit, which ensures an additional R$ 50 to dependents aged between seven and 18 years and to pregnant women who are part of the family composition. In Amazonas, there are 612,000 people benefiting from the additional benefit: 33,600 pregnant women, 482,000 children aged between 7 and 12 years and 96,000 adolescents (12 to 18 years of age). The investment to settle the additional benefit in June is R$ 30 million.

The new Bolsa Família guarantees a minimum of R$600 per family. Since March, it has also paid the Early Childhood Benefit, an additional R$150 for each child up to six years old included in the family composition. In Amazonas, there are 347,000 children in this age group, based on an investment of R$ 51 million.

Manaus is the Amazon municipality with the highest number of beneficiaries in the state. There are 255 thousand, from a federal transfer of R$ 185 million. Manacapuru (21,526), ​​Parintins (21,070), Autazes (16,416) and Itacoatiara (15,915) complete the list of the five municipalities with the highest number of beneficiaries in Amazonas in June.

Gas Allowance

This month, the Federal Government also pays the value of R$ 109 of Gas Aid to 132 thousand families in the most socially vulnerable condition in Amazonas. The total funds transferred for this purpose is R$ 14.4 million.

In June, the Bolsa Família reaches two unprecedented levels in the country: for the first time the average value of the benefit exceeds R$ 700 and reaches R$ 705.40. The transfers from the Federal Government are the largest ever made: almost R$ 15 billion. The total number of families remained at the level of May: 21.2 million. The number of people contemplated reaches 54.6 million.

The Variable Family Benefit, which provides an additional R$50 to dependents between the ages of seven and 18 and pregnant women, reached 15.7 million beneficiaries in June, based on an investment of R$766 million. In this universe there are 943,000 pregnant women (an investment of BRL 46 million) and 14.8 million children and adolescents (BRL 720 million).

In addition to the Family Variable Benefit, there is the Early Childhood Benefit, which since March guarantees an additional R$150 for each child aged zero to six in the family. There are 9.12 million children in this age group in June, which require an investment of R$ 1.3 billion.

Regions

The Northeast concentrates the largest number of beneficiaries. In June, more than 9.74 million families in the region received aid in the average amount of R$ 696.76. Federal investment for the nine states exceeds R$ 6.79 billion. Resources reach 1,794 municipalities.

Next comes the Southeast, with 6.32 million families covered in its 1,668 municipalities in the four states. BRL 4.42 billion will be transferred, which ensures an average value of BRL 700.26.

The North brings together 2.58 million families in the program. They receive an average benefit of R$ 740.37 (the highest in the country), distributed in all 450 municipalities in the seven states, with a contribution of R$ 1.9 billion. The South has 1.42 million beneficiary families. Resources, of R$ 1.01 billion, reach 1,191 municipalities and ensure an average value of R$ 711.28.

The Midwest Region already has 1.13 million families covered, the result of a federal investment of R$ 814.92 million. The average benefit to be paid in all 466 municipalities in the four states, in addition to the Federal District, is R$ 721.16.

States

In the breakdown by Federative Units, São Paulo is the state with the highest number of assisted families. There are 2.575 million, with transfers exceeding R$ 1.82 billion and an average benefit of R$ 707.27. Next comes Bahia, with 2.569 million families covered, the result of an investment of R$ 1.76 billion. Only São Paulo and Bahia have more than two million families covered throughout the country.

Another six states have more than one million beneficiary families in June: Rio de Janeiro (1.82 million), Pernambuco (1.67 million), Minas Gerais (1.61 million), Ceará (1.49 million), Pará (1.35 million) and Maranhão (1.23 million).

Composition

The predominance of Bolsa Família is female single-parent families with a child or children, a characteristic present in more than 10.14 million households, or 47.81% of assisted families. In the program, 17.3 million families are headed by a woman (81.5%). In the breakdown by race or color, 40 million beneficiaries identify themselves as black or brown: 73.4%.

Gas Allowance

Auxílio Gás benefits more than 5.62 million families throughout the country, with a benefit of R$ 109. Federal investment amounts to more than R$ 612.9 million. In the division by regions, the Northeast concentrates the largest number of beneficiaries: there are 2.7 million families, from an investment of R$ 294 million.

The Southeast appears next, with 1.8 million families and transfers of R$ 198 million. In the North Region, there are 543 thousand families served and R$ 59 million in resources. In the South of the country, the three states add up to 359 thousand families and R$ 39 million in federal investment. In the Midwest, finally, there are 191 thousand and R$ 20 million. São Paulo is the state with the largest number of families covered in the entire country, with more than 729,500.
