The Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) made official this Wednesday (7) the rules for automakers that will participate in the government program that will grant tax credits of R$ 500 million to lower the price of cars, launched this week.

According to the ordinance published in the Official Journal of the Union (DOU), companies have until next Monday (12) to inform the list of models that they intend to include or that have already been included in the program since the edition of the provisional measure, in addition to the amount of credit it intends to make available, up to the limit of R$ 10 million per automaker (see full text).

Companies that consume up to 70% of these resources can apply for new qualifications to the ministry, with amounts between R$ 1 million and R$ 10 million. These requirements must contain a list of cars already sold at a discount and the respective values.

Among the requirements to participate in the program are the market price (up to R$ 120,000), energy efficiency and the use of domestic content in the production of cars. The list of vehicles included by the automakers in the program and the amount of authorized resources will be published on the official MDIC website as soon as the automakers complete the procedure.
