Manaus (AM) – When it comes to finding a restaurant in the capital of Amazonas with international gastronomic techniques and the flavor of Amazonian food, Aupabá, at the Comfort Hotel Manaus, is one of the first options that comes to mind. After the pandemic, the gastronomic space reopens its doors this September, with theme nights dedicated to barbecue, pasta and burger lovers.

In addition to being open every day for coffee, lunch and dinner, from 6am to 10pm, the hotel restaurant located in Distrito Industrial I has “Pasta Night” on Tuesdays, “Boteco Barbecue Night” on Wednesdays (which takes place in the hotel’s leisure area) and “Hamburger Night” on Thursdays.

“After these years of not being able to carry out our activities in the restaurant, it is a great joy to reopen this space to our guests and the external public. With the reopening, we brought new features such as theme nights”,

According to the tourism specialist – graduated from the State University of Amazonas (UEA) –, the program menu has options for all palates.

“At ‘Barbecue de Boteco’, we have meat skewers, meat with pepperoni and chicken with bacon, served with a side of rice, mayonnaise, vinaigrette and farofa. On ‘Pasta Night’ we have stuffed pastas, cheese and ham rondele, lasagna, gnocchi and sauces, such as bolognese, three cheeses, pomodoro. Everything prepared for the customer’s choice with an all-you-can-eat buffet service. Meanwhile, on ‘Burger Night’, we have several selections of artisan burgers, including vegetarian versions. The most popular option is undoubtedly the ‘Chef’s Burger’, made with very soft brioche bread, artisanal hamburger, mozzarella cheese, strips of bacon and caramelized onion.”

The external public can visit the Comfort Hotel Manaus – which belongs to the Atlantica Hospitality International chain – both for consumption in the restaurant and in the bar located in the pool area (with permission to swim guaranteed only to guests).

“We have an excellent structure. Our restaurant seats up to 140 people, and can even be rented for private events. We have a trained and qualified team ready to better serve our customers, as well as high-quality food, a comfortable environment and ample complimentary parking”, points out Bárbara, who also has a postgraduate degree in Commercial Management and Sales from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).

Amazonian Ancestry

Opened in 2011, the Auapabá restaurant offers international cuisine with regional touches, alluding to the indigenous name, from the Tupi-Guarani language, which means “land of origin”.

Today, the kitchen is commanded by chef Armando Nascimento – who has worked for the Atlantica Hospitality International chain since 2007 –, with the assistance of the lead cook, Antônio Brito, and the head waiter, Marinaldo Ferreira, who commands the team of waiters and cummins.

The team is responsible for the personalized menus on regular days and the special menu for theme nights, which has prices for all budgets: “Pasta Night” offers an all-you-can-eat buffet service for R$55; “Boteco Barbecue Night” features a full barbecue costing R$27.50 and a simple barbecue costing R$13.20; and “Hamburger Night” has options ranging from R$26 to R$35, all served with fries on the side.

According to Bárbara, the restaurant’s menu is prepared to please everyone, with options known in international cuisine, such as steak and chicken parmigiana, as well as Amazonian fish, such as pirarucu and tambaqui.
