Arts Center promotes dance show in Manaus

Manaus (AM) – The Arts Center of the Federal University of Amazonas (CAUA/Ufam) presents the show ‘Vivaldi’s Spring and Summer’ as a tribute to Isadora Duncan, pioneer of modern dance, from the Senior Dance Corps. The presentation will also feature the Carimbó groups ‘Saia Rodada do CAUA’ and the group ‘Egressos Flores do Carimbó’ with their contagious rhythms and flowery skirts. The Event takes place this Thursday (9), at 7pm, in the auditorium of the Ufam Arts Center, at Rua Monsenhor Coutinho, 724, Centro (corner of Rua Tapajós), with free entry.
Vivaldi’s ‘The Four Seasons’ is one of the most performed works in the classical repertoire. Its captivating melodies and connection to nature appeal to a wide variety of audiences, making it a timeless work. It is a masterpiece of classical music that transcends time and remains appreciated for its beauty, innovation and ability to evoke the seasons in an intense and vibrant way. The work remains one of the most emblematic compositions in the history of classical music.
Representing popular culture we will have the participation of the resident group Carimbó da Saia Rodada and the egress group Flores do Carimbó – AM. Result of the fusion of indigenous, black and Iberian cultural influences, Carimbó was recognized as Brazil’s intangible cultural heritage on September 11, 2014, by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (IPHAM). Therefore, as part of the actions to enhance the historical and memorial legacies of our culture, CAUA integrates Carimbó into its scenic dance production.
The Senior Dance Corps and Carimbó groups are made up of women over 30 years old, who practice dance as a form of affirmative action, encouragement, and representation, exercising the right to express themselves artistically by participating in a relevant way in sociocultural processes. local, consolidating humanistic principles and civilizational ideals.
The artistic direction of the shows is under the responsibility of TAE/CAUA/Ufam Choreographer Sandro Michael Ferreira.
