Goiânia (GO) – The exhibition “Nodas de uma Razha / Cortes em Quatro Tempos”, which will be part of the LambesGoia – International Lambe-Lambe Festival, in Goiânia, will feature the art of 15 artists from Amazonas.
Members of Coletivo Artísmo, the artists from Amazonas were invited by Lambes Brasil, which is the festival’s partner. The exhibition opens this Thursday (09), at the Cora Coralina Cultural Center, in Goiânia.
Amazonian participation will consist of a collective mural focused on the presence, making and practice of lambe-lambe, which consists of the most democratic urban intervention that exists. Just create an art/poster and stick it on a wall, post, trash can.
Curated by Victor Zagury, the exhibition highlights the work of 15 Amazonian artists: Zag (@zag.vsc), Alex @rivotrist), André Hullk (@andrehullk), Samara Souza (@samarasoux), Turenko Beça (turenkoland), Sarah Campelo (@sarahcampelo_), Ana Julia (@collart.mao), Denis LDO. (@denis.ldo) Jander Manauara, (@jandermanauara) Isis (@isisdemanaus) Paloma Silva, (@poetisa.te) Fronteira Imaginária (@fronteiraimaginaria), Dighetto (@dighetto), Dayane Cruz (@artista.day) and Nathan equal (chyberton).
The Amazonas works will be presented in a mural signed by Coletivo Artísmo. According to curator Victor Zagury, local artists bring with them a rich diversity of styles and techniques, reflecting the cultural richness and unique identity of Manaus.
“Traces of the City: Artistic Expression on the Streets of Manaus” is the title of the mural signed by the artivism collective. According to Zagury, this is an opportunity for visitors to delve into the urban artistic universe of Manaus, exploring the dialogue between the city and its creative manifestations.
The works on display cover varied themes, from the exuberant nature of the Amazon region to relevant social and political issues. For the curator, the symbiotic relationship between the urban area and the natural environment is fundamental to the city’s identity and sustainability. After all, Manaus has an intimate and vital connection with the river and the Amazon forest that surrounds it, in Victor Zagury’s opinion.
Social criticism and engagement
Zagury also talks about the criteria used in its curation: “As the exhibition is based on the Artísmo project, the selection criteria were works with a sense of social criticism referring to the North, the Amazon, combining the expression of artists and activism politician in the work”, he defined.
The political and social engagement of the artists is also one of the characteristics of the collective whose art reaches Goiânia. “Many of the artists then engaged in social campaigns and climate change, seeking to promote social transformation through art,”
states.
Another veteran who joined the collective, artist Turenko Beça, says he is happy to have been remembered by Coletivo Artísmo.
“There was an invitation for them to participate, and I received the invitation, I’m kind of going along with the kids, because I have a relationship with them and everything, but they have a very big importance at this moment”,
praises Turenko.
For Turenko, this is an opportunity to rejuvenate with a new generation of artists.
“I’m happy to have been remembered, and to be able to follow this exhibition. These are people who have good minds, who make a difference, who are part of the cultural movement. I’m very pleased to be able to rejuvenate a little with the kids”,
celebrates.
Artivism Collective
Coletivo Artísmo emerged from street actions in the East zone of Manaus. These actions combined artistic expressions and political activism, seeking to promote social transformation and awareness through art. The collective uses connections with artists from other groups and uses different forms of artistic expression, such as graffiti, lambe-lambe, photography and urban interventions, to address social, cultural and environmental issues relevant to the local community.
In addition to urban interventions, the Collective also holds exhibitions in galleries, cultural and peripheral spaces in Manaus, providing a conducive environment for appreciation and reflection on street art. The exhibitions address relevant themes that encourage awareness and artistic expression for those who live in the north, encouraging the public to become actively involved in social transformation.
