Arraiá dos Porcadeiros brings together chefs to prepare Porco Moura

Culture, history and gastronomy in one place. The “Arraiá dos Porcadeiros” already has a date set, on the 9th of July, at Restaurante Girassol, in Palmeira/PR. Storytelling, games, country music, antipasti table, beers, sweets, country food and the traditional Porco Moura on the ground fire are the main attractions of the event, which has a partnership with Bom Gourmet.

Idealized by Rosane Radeck, Eva dos Santos, Flávia Rogoski, René Seifert and Vanessa Seifert, the event has been held since 2017 and brings together chefs, bakers, cooks, artists, historians and anyone else who wants to participate. “Festa Polaca”, “Anarchist”, “Colônia Cecília” were themes of past editions. A success last year, “Arraiá Julino” will happen again this year, this time with two launches from the Porcadeiros brand: gingerbread and chocolate with bacon.

“At this party, the Strasburger brewery, from Ponta Grossa, will be present to launch the gingerbread, which is one of the typical drinks of Palmeira, and also Kakau Owit. They make handmade chocolates with cocoa from Bahia and will also launch chocolate with bacon from the Porcadeiros brand”, says chef Rosane Radeck.

In addition to the typical food of the Julina party, such as crackling, popcorn, pine nuts, there will also be preparations with grits, pumpkin and cassava. For the main dish, the famous Porco Moura on the ground fire. “We always do ground fire with Porco Moura to rescue the story, tell a little about the project. Professor Marson Warpechowski from UFPR will be there to tell a little about the project to rescue the breed, which is a Brazilian, national pig”, he reports.

The event also has a cultural bias and seeks to value the Porco Moura Project, an initiative to rescue the swine breed that almost went extinct. “The porcadeiros, we joke, are a troop, because the porcadeiros were herders of pigs. And our troops are cooks, brewers, bakers, artists, cutlery makers, there are several people gathered who are going to show something ”, he comments.

This edition also features the participation of chef Vavo Krieck and cheese specialist Flávia Rogoski, from Bom Vivant, who will present a starter table with regional cheeses. Cutler Aloísio Selhorst is also confirmed to be present and will show how to forge and make a knife with fire and a hammer. The storytelling is on account of Arnoldo Monteiro Bach, author and historian of the book “Porcadeiros”.

“It is a cultural event that rescues several regional histories from Paraná and Brazil and, through gastronomy, we tell a little of this history through this ‘troop’ that is multicultural, composed of brewers, cutlery makers, chefs, artists, musicians and the Porco Moura Project”, he says.

The party will also have the participation of the Uninamalte brewery and lots of viola fashion, country music and mouth harmonica. Tickets cost R$150.00 per person (including all meals and typical foods) and can be purchased on the website: Drinks only are separate.
