Argentina receives, for the first time, the long-awaited Michelin star. Six local restaurants, from Buenos Aires and Mendoza, were recognized by the most desired guide on the planet.

The Aramburu restaurant, by chef Gonzalo Aramburu, was recognized with two stars at once and completed the historic feat for the country. The maximum score is three. Still in Buenos Aires, Don Julio — the meat classic and Brazilian favorite — and Trescha were crowned. In Mendoza, known for its wineries, Zonda Cocina de Paisaje, Casa Vigil, Brindillas and Azafrán completed the list.

Due to the high flow of tourists, the average advance estimate for booking in some of these places reaches 60 days.

In Brazil, the guide has remained suspended since 2021 due to the pandemic. But the selection of restaurants in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo is scheduled for March 2024.

The country currently has 13 restaurants recognized by the Michelin Guide. Of them, only four restaurants have two stars: Ryo Gastronomia, Oteque, DOM and Oro.
