Apple tests its own ChatGPT for iPhone and iPad – 07/19/2023 – Tech

Apple is working on its own artificial intelligence tools to challenge the dominance of OpenAI, Google and Microsoft in this market. According to reports made to Bloomberg, the iPhone manufacturer, however, has not yet outlined which strategy to adopt to deliver this technology to customers.

The issue of privacy in the creation of AI systems challenges Apple, which promises differentiated information security to its users. Placing the entire language model development process under the company’s management is a step in this direction.

ChatGPT, from OpenAI, and Bard, from Google, have already had difficulties imposed by data protection authorities in Europe, whose regulation is stricter in consumer protection.

Apple’s main competitor in the smartphone market, the Korean Samsung, also works on its own applications with generative AI. Device maker Galaxy banned its employees from using ChatGPT in May after workers leaked internal data to the OpenAI tool.
