Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) determined the suspension of the manufacture, sale, distribution and use of all products that are in Fugini’s stock. The agency’s resolution was published in the DOU (Official Gazette) on Monday (27).
The regulatory agency found “serious flaws” in the manufacture of products during a health inspection at the company’s factory in Monte Alto, São Paulo, 350 kilometers from the capital.
The problems are related to “hygiene, quality control and safety of raw materials and the final product, pest control, traceability, among others,” the agency said in a statement.
The inspection was carried out by Anvisa, the Sanitary Surveillance Center of São Paulo and the Municipal Sanitary Surveillance of Monte Alto.
In a note released this Wednesday, Fugini said that the inspection generated an order to change some internal processes and procedures. The modifications requested by Anvisa would have already been carried out, according to the company.
Fugini claims that there are no batches with recall and the “commercialization and consumption of products follow normally, at retail points of sale”.
“All Fugini products that are for consumption at home, for sale in markets or stocked in distribution centers, remain safe and available to consumers. We always comply with all obligations”, said Fugini in this Wednesday’s note.
