The presenter Antonia Fontenelle generated revolt on the internet during her participation in a ‘Jovem Pan’ program by commenting on the incentive to reduce the prices of popular cars implemented by the Lula government.
According to the Bolsonarist, popular cars should not exist, because poor people do not have money to pay expenses and must instead take the bus. She also says that the investment should be in public transport.
The announcement by the Lula government (PT) of the popular car program, which provides for price reductions in models of up to R$120,000, is already having an impact on the used car market.
According to Sant Clair de Castro Jr., president of Mobiauto, heard by Valor Econômico, one of the largest marketplaces in the automotive sector in the country, on Friday (26) the prices of seminovos, cars with up to three years of use, began to fall .
It is still not possible to quantify exactly the drop in prices, but a difference in the value curve is already noticeable.
Castro explains that many dealers anticipated the devaluation of used cars as a result of the future reduction in prices for new cars, and lowered vehicle prices this weekend to avoid having stocks with higher values.
Mobiauto currently has 250,000 vehicles advertised, and the market is expected to remain agitated as consumers remain confused during the 15-day deadline given by the Ministry of Finance for reviewing the program.
