Amounts receivable in 2023: how much was forgotten in banks – 03/01/2023 – Market

The second phase of release of amounts receivable by the Central Bank should again frustrate those who have forgotten money in banks and finance companies. Of the total of 40.9 million Brazilians entitled to redeem some amount —including individuals and companies—, 29.3 million will receive up to R$10.

In all, there are more than R$ 6 billion available in this new round, which includes those who did not withdraw the money in the first phase, in 2022, and people who have already died. More than 640,000 will withdraw amounts above R$1,000, according to the Central Bank.

Access to forgotten money will be released on Tuesday (7), on the website valorareceber.bcb.gov.br, from 10 am. You will need to click “Access SVR” to request payment. Before, however, you need to consult how much you are entitled to.

The consultation has been available since last Tuesday (28), on the same website. Just inform CPF and date of birth, for individuals, or CNPJ and company opening date, for legal entities. To receive the amount, you must have a silver or gold level account in the Gov.br system.

On Tuesday (28), 5.067 million public queries were made to the system. Of the total, 1.348 million (26.6%) have money to receive and 3.719 million (73.4%) had a negative result.

What will be available in this new phase:

• All types of value provided for in the payment rules of the Values ​​Receivable System
• Consultation of amounts receivable from people who have died, with access by heirs, testamentary executors, executors or legal representatives, in addition to the institution responsible for the amount, contact details of the institution and additional information
• Virtual waiting room for assistance in cases of accesses above the system’s capacity (there will no longer be scheduling of accesses by date of birth or company opening date)
• Mandatory selection of Pix key to request values
• Completion of contact details, such as phone and email for those who select a Pix key
• Information on amounts requested in joint solidarity accounts by other holders

How to query the Amounts Receivable

The only website where citizens can consult and find out how to request the return of their values, their company or people who have died is valorareceber.bcb.gov.br.

• Access the website and click on “Check if you have amounts to be received”
• Inform the type of document, whether it is CPF or CNPJ
• Enter your date of birth or the date of the person who died, for consultation with individuals, or the opening of the company, for legal entities
• Click “Consult”
• The only information available will be whether or not there are receivables; the total will only be released on Tuesday (7), from 10 am

How to claim the forgotten money

1. On the receivables page, go to “Access the SVR”
2. Afterwards, log in with your gov.br Account; Individuals need to have a silver or gold level to access the system
3. Go to “My Receivables”
4. Read carefully and then accept the “Term of Science”
5. The system will display data such as values, name of the debtor institution and other information
6. If the system indicates the option “Request this way”, you will need to select one of your Pix keys and enter your personal data (keep the protocol number)
7. If the system offers the Request option here, but does not present the possibility of informing the Pix key, contact the financial institution by telephone or by email informed to arrange the return method

What will appear when making the query:

• the amount to be received
• the name and contact details of the institution that must return the amount
• the origin (type) of the receivable amount
• more information about the amount to be received, when applicable

Rules for receiving forgotten money

Financial institutions will have up to 12 business days to return the amounts if the citizen has a Pix key and requests the amounts through this option. Anyone applying directly to the bank or finance company may have to wait longer, because, in this case, there is no 12-day deadline.

If you prefer, you can create a Pix key and then go back to the receivables system to make the deposit request. Even if you indicated the Pix key, the institution can return the amount by TED or DOC to the selected Pix key account.

In addition, banks or finance companies may contact you by phone or email indicated by you to confirm your identity or clarify doubts about the form of return. This is a procedure for your safety and that of the institution.

The Central Bank’s guidance, however, is not to provide any of your passwords to telephone attendants. If any data of this type is requested, refuse and contact the institution.

If the system does not offer the option to redeem the amounts, contact the bank or finance company directly by telephone or email informed by it.

BEWARE OF SCAMS

BC warns that the only site where you can consult and find out how to request the return of your values, your company or deceased persons is valuesareceber.bcb.gov.br and that all services on the portal are free. If someone offers and charges for consultation services, it is a scam.

The Central Bank also does not send links or contact you to deal with receivables or confirm data. Only the institution that appears in the system can contact the customer, but it cannot ask for passwords.
