Americanas suspends delivery app operations – 03/24/2023 – Panel SA

Days after the presentation of its judicial recovery plan earlier this week, Americanas began to communicate its delivery partners that it will suspend Americanas Delivery operations in some locations from Wednesday (29).

Sought after by Panel SA, the company claims that Americanas Delivery, the company’s food delivery and convenience application, is now part of Americanas’ website and application.

The Americanas Delivery app was launched about two years ago, after the acquisition of delivery startup Shipp.

“The integration was already planned as a roll out of the business since the initial acquisition and aims to optimize operations and concentrate efforts on a single brand”, says the company in a note.

Also according to Americanas, some areas where business was still incipient had a break to make “possible route readjustments”. The movement had been happening since last year, says the company.

“The service will continue to function normally in the areas where it already operates within the Americanas app”, he says in a note. The company does not say how many locations the service was suspended.
