Amazonas will host the largest nautical fair in the north and northeast of the country, the announcement was made yesterday (02), during the participation of the State Tourism Company (Amazonastur), in the opening ceremony of the Barco Show fair, in Salvador (BA) . The edition is expected to take place in the second half of 2023.

In the previous edition of the event, in 2022, there were more than three thousand people circulating through the space and the fair generated around R$12.7 million in business. The announcement is the result of negotiations that began in November last year between Amazonastur and the CEO of Barco Show Eventos, Hugo Leonardo Assis.

The president of Amazonastur, Gustavo Sampaio, explained that the interest is to develop the nautical tourism segment in the region, in addition to consolidating the Amazon as a route for major national events.

“The nautical segment in our state is an important sector of our economy that moves from large international cruise companies to inland boatmen. Our intention of holding the Barco Show in Amazonas is to give visibility to our nautical tourism, which is so unique”, he said.

For the CEO of Barco Show Eventos, holding the next edition in Amazonas boosts tourism. “We hope to be able to contribute to this development in terms of nautical tourism and be able to generate results, generate jobs and generate business within the state”, he said.

In addition to participating in the opening of the Barco Show, Amazonastur has its own stand that will operate during the four-day event of the fair, which takes place from February 2nd to 5th, promoting Amazonas as a tourist destination, in addition to providing a space for visitors to and businessmen get to know the nautical segment in the Amazon.

“The Amazon River is the largest navigable river on the planet. The Amazon offers the visitor a unique nautical experience, which is to navigate our river roads and at the same time admire the immensity of the Amazon forest”, reinforced the president of Amazonastur.

The event should bring together around 10,000 people, including authorities, businessmen and enthusiasts of the theme.
